연구소개
신명근 교수 실험실은 백혈병 등 다양한 혈액질환 환자에서 얻어지는 임상검체를 대상으로 미토콘드리아를 중심으로 새로운 분자병태생리규명, 동반진단 표지자 발굴 및 혁신항암 신약개발을 위한 다음과 같은 이행성연구를 수행하고 있다.
1. 혈액암의 새로운 분자병태생리 규명
- 백혈병 등 혈액암은 새로운 분자병태생리가 규명되고 신약이 출현했음에도 불구하고 실제 임상적 효과를 담보할 수 있는 게임체인저가 발견되고 있지 않은 실정이다.
- 이에 본 실험실에서는 세포와 조직의 발전소역할 뿐만아니라 세포고사의 센터역할을 하는 미토콘드리아를 타깃하여 정밀의학적 접근으로 혈액암 정복을 위한 새로운 병태생리 규명과 혁신항암 신약개발을 수행하고 있다.
2. 난치암 동반진단 표지자 발굴
- 동반진단은 진단적가치와 치료적 타깃이 되는 표지자를 통해 이루어 진다. 본 실험실에서는 고령백혈병, 다발골수종 등 난치암의 동반진단 구현을 위한 유용한 동반진단표지자 발굴을 위한 이행성연구를 수행한다.
- 발굴된 동반진단 표지자의 종양분자병태생리 역할에 대한 규명을 위해 화순전남대학교병원 정밀의학센터(진단검사의학과와 병리과 공동운영)에서 잘구축되어 운영되고 있는 차세대유전체분석 플랫폼을 이용한다.
3. 새로운 혁신함암신약개발
- 본실험실에서 자체발굴한 백혈병 동반진단표지자를 타깃하는 신규항암유효물질인 KBB-CC1과 KBB-CC2를 대상으로 인체적용 임상시험허가를 위한 전임상시험을 진행중이다.
- 항암작용이 뛰어난 천연물질을 발굴하여 이를 모사한 합성함암유효물질을 합성하여 실험실 수준의 안정성, 유효성 및 약제화 가능성을 평가하여 고령 혈액암 환자에서 투여가 가능한 혁신항암제를 개발하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본실험실에서는 KBB-N1과 KBB-N2 천연물모사 합성항암유효물질을 발굴하고 합성하여 비임상시험을 진행중이다.
