Research interests

T cell immunity is a key component of adaptive immune system and has a broad impact on many aspects of human diseases, including infectious diseases, autoimmune diseases, and cancers. Therefore, exact understanding of T cell immunobiology is of immense importance to gain insights on the mechanistic basis of such diseases and the development of a potential therapeutic strategies. The main interest of our lab is to understand how T cell acquires functional heterogeneity and how such diverse behaviours are regulated in different immune contexts. The key research topics focused is as follows: i) to address a role of self-reactivity and homeostatic cytokines in shaping T cell functional heterogeneity; ii) to address underlying mechanism of the requirement of self-recognition for T cell homeostasis; and iii) to understand human CD8 T cell heterogeneity particularly in cancer patients and develop a predictive biomarker for the patients' response outcome after immunotherapies.
