Research interests

Our lab focuses on the securing and distribution of beneficial microbial resources, especially probiotic strains and human intestinal microbes for academic and industrial research. We also have developed several functional probiotic strains: ameliorate obesity, effectively degrade human milk oligosaccharide, inhibit the growth of periodontal disease-causing bacteria, and control the development of intestinal stem cells. In addition, we have been studying the interaction between intestinal microbiomes and hosts using human intestinal organoids
