We hereby announce the schedule for the 2026 Fall Qualifying Examinations for thesis submission. 

Candidates must check the eligibility and required documents and apply within the deadline.

1. Schedule and Venue

• Application Period: July 6 (Mon) – July 10 (Fri), 2026, by 14:00 (Strict deadline)
• Submission Venue: Graduate School Administration Office, Room 104, M2, Convergence Research Building, Hwasun Campus
• How to Submit: Visit in person (Recommended)
• Examination Date (Thursday, July 30, 2026):
  • Foreign Language Exam: 09:30 ~
  • Comprehensive Exam: 14:00 ~

2. Application for Exam Exemption

(For those who meet the exemption criteria through official test scores or research publications)

• Application Period: July 6 (Mon) – July 10 (Fri), 2026, by 14:00 (Strict deadline)
• Required Documents:
  1. Exemption Application Form (Attachment 1)
  2. List of Applicants Excel file (Attachment 2, submit via email)
  3. Supporting Documents (Official Score Report, Thesis/Paper PDF, etc.)
• Important Notes:
  • Official Language Scores: Only scores earned within 2 years of the application date are valid.
  • Research Performance: Submit the PDF of the paper along with evidence.
• Korean Exemption Criteria (Dept. of Biomedical Sciences):
  • 학과	시험명
    	한국어능력시험(TOPIK)	전남대학교 언어교육원 한국어과정(정규,특별강좌) (여수캠퍼스 글로벌교육원 포함)
    의과학과	3급 이상	3단계 이상 이수

    
    

3. Application for Taking the Exam

• Required Document: Examination Application Form (Attachment 1)
• Eligibility: Those who have completed at least 1 semester and earned 9 credits or more.
• Exam Language: According to departmental regulations, Domestic students take English, and International students take Korean.

4. Guidelines for Application

[Comprehensive Exam]

• Eligibility: Check your completed credits and requirements in advance.
• Course Selection: Only Major Required Courses can be applied for. Write the course name in Korean (English translation can be added).
  • (Example) Field 1: Biochemistry (Prof. Young-guk Kim / 2020 1st Semester)
• Mandatory Info: Precisely state the Course Name, Professor’s Name, and Semester completed.
• Ph.D. Candidates: Prospective graduates must select 2 required courses from their specific track.

[Exemption Request]

• Excel Form: Complete the exemption criteria sheet accurately and send it via email.
• Revised Criteria: Ensure you check the updated exemption guidelines (effective since 2024).
