Research interests
Jeong-Tae Koh's lab is conducting extensive research on the homeostasis of hard tissues (bones, teeth), the pathophysiology and therapeutic approaches for overcoming hard-tissue diseases. We also have a lot of interest in the relationship between bone loss and oral/systemic diseases, including underlying molecular mechanisms and therapeutic intervention by using chemical substances. The main topics of current research are as follows.
1. The role of inflammasomes in hard-tissue biointerfaces
2. Bone loss in Diabetes/Osteoporosis/Aging process
3. Pathophysiology and therapeutic approach in periodontal bone loss (microbial and/or energy metabolites)
4. Development of bone regeneration technology
